People come to Atsumi for many different reasons, be it for the mind, body or soul.  Modern life and its stresses have created a need for a retreat and detox where we can give ourselves the time and attention we neglect in our everyday lives.  Some may initially be worried that Atsumi will be full of “new age hippies”, wearing white robes and chanting all day long (not that there’s anything wrong with that and everyone is welcome).  But, be reassured that you will find people from all walks of life here.

  Here’s a brief look at a “Typical Day in Atsumi”

Firstly, I should stress there’s plenty to keep you occupied during your stay here and everyone is pleasantly surprised that going without food or living on a raw food diet isn’t as difficult as one might anticipate.

The day starts at 7.00 am. You can get up when you like, of course, but if you want to participate in the morning group discussion, you need to get to the Yoga Sala before 7.00 am. There is a meeting for some Zingy Ginger Tea, Energizing Wheatgrass Shot, Immortal Kombucha Tea, and a chit-chat. Guests get their schedules for the day, book appointments, trips, or treatments, and new guests are welcomed into the group. It is a chance to chat, ask any questions you may have to one of the fasting staff or your fellow cleansers. Fasting and health tips and talks are offered by the fasting specialists as well as an angel card reading, but if this is not your cup of ginger tea, do not worry, you do not have to participate.

 

After the morning group discussion, it is time for the morning activity to start. The morning activity is different in each day for our guests to enjoy a variety of exercising.

Then it is off for the “highlight” of the day – your morning coffee Colema (more of a highlight than the Colema) depending on your schedule.

 

At midday, the Atsumi's Shuttle Bus is waiting to take you down to Nai Harn, the nearby beach, to relax, sunbathe or take a stroll. If you do not fancy the beach, you can relax at the pool, in your room, or workout in our Mini-Gym.

 

In the afternoon, you may have your message, if it’s scheduled for the afternoon. Some guests may have appointments for a spa treatment or with one of our therapists.

 

We almost forget to mention that during the day, depending on the program you have chosen you will be drinking a delicious “Cleansing Drink” alternated with some supplements if you are on a Full Cleanse program and if you have gone for the Raw Cleanse program you will be having specially and dedicatedly designed Raw meals.

 

​Last but not least, it is evening time before you know it, and if you fancy, you can go to the Herbal Steam Room to sweat out some more Toxins. If you still have enough energy after that you may want to join the Evening Activity at 6.30 pm - 7.30 pm and again there is something different every evening.

 

Then it’s bedtime! Going to bed before 10.00 pm will help your liver detoxifies better)

Yoga & Meditation

Vinyasa Yoga

is like moving Meditation. The linking of breath with movement from pose to pose. Chaturanga to Upward-Facing Dog to Downward-Facing Dog​ generally used throughout the class​.

Hermit Yoga

Hermit Yoga incorporates traditional Thai Hermit (Russi) postures together with Indian classical asanas. The approach is simple yet active, with a strong emphasis placed on Vipassana (insight) meditation practices.

Guided Meditation

An easy way to start your meditation practice. You will be guided throughout the class by using imagination, visualization, body scans, affirmation, and relaxation. Healing, calmness, and relaxation are the purpose.

High Tempo Activities

Thai Boxing

Our introduction to Muay Thai (Thai boxing) is suitable for all levels, from complete beginner to be more experienced. A one-hour workout that combines basic Thai boxing techniques with pad work and drills is for all levels, do not worry. A great overall body works out that's excellent fun too. The trainer (Kru Moo), is from the well known Sinbi Muay Thai Camp. He is an experienced trainer and also one of Phuket's top fighters at his weight.

Beach Walk

Once a week at 7:15 am we take a brisk 45-minute walk along beautiful Nai Harn beach, which is one of the most magnificent beaches on the island. For those of you who love swimming, you can take a morning dip in the ocean to invigorate your body.

Mountain Walk

Once a week, we take a steady morning walk up to the Promthep Cape viewpoint, which is famous for its breathtaking views of Phuket Island. Walk at your own leisure, admiring the lush green surrounding, or take a steady jog if you are feeling more energetic.

Benefits Of Fasting & Post Detox

After your detox program, it is essential to introduce foods gradually back into your regular diet to be gentle on your digestive system. Taking care when reintroducing food is also a great way to discover which foods work with your body and provide you with a wealth of energy. Also, to identify the ones working against you, leaving your feeling bloated or lethargic, including food sensitivities, allergies, or intolerance. Raw Food Workshop

Kombucha Tea

Kombucha is a mixture of sweetenEd green and black teas, which are naturally fermented by yeast and bacteria produced from a "mushroom' type SCOBY. Kombucha contains high levels of antioxidants, b-vitamins, probiotics, and glucaric acid. Basically, it gives your body what it needs to heal itself by :

● Aiding your liver in removing harmful           substances

● Promoting balance in your digestive             system

● Rich in health-promoting vitamins,                 enzymes, and acids​

Sightseeings

During the program, you have the flexibility to go sightseeing around Phuket. Though it is tranquil around the retreat, there are many tourist attractions and things to do in the surrounding areas. There is something for everyone, extreme sports for the daring and courageous, beautiful beaches and landmarks for nature lovers, huge shopping complexes for shopaholics and orphanages and charity foundations for those of you wishing to make a difference. Day or Night Phuket offers a wide range of activities. Here is our TOP 10!

Big Buddha (Included)

Phuket Big Buddha, a 45-meter tall white marble statue, is visible from anywhere in the southern part of Phuket. The views from up there are breathtaking. When reaching the top of the hill, you will find plentiful parking and a road leading to construction where people can donate, buy amulets, and where occasional ceremonies are held. This place also serves as a museum narrating the history of the Big Buddha. You’ll have to walk through this building to access the stairs climbing to the Big Buddha. A weekly trip to Big Buddha is included in your schedule every Wednesday at 12 pm

Wat Chalong (Included)

Wat Chalong, or Chalong Temple, built at the beginning of the 19th century, is the largest and most visited Buddhist temple in Phuket. Its real name is Wat Chaitararam. The most recent building on the grounds of Wat Chalong is a 60 meters tall ‘Chedi’ sheltering a splinter of bone from Buddha. Walls and ceilings are decorated with beautiful paintings illustrating the life of Buddha, as well as many donated golden statues.

Weekend Night Market: Naka Market

Every Friday and Saturday afternoon carrying on into late evening is the Weekend Market held in Phuket Town. Here you can purchase everything from Thai handicrafts to clothing, bags, souvenirs, jewelry, cosmetics, perfumes, and much more. A Saturday evening trip to this market is included in the program at 6.15 pm
